RT8W Polyurethane Rheological Agent
RT8W is a non-ionic hydrophobic modified polyurethane rheological agent designed for emulsion thickening in high-gloss low-PVC systems.
- Outstanding brush retention, splash resistance.
- Water resistance and water separation resistance.
- Antimicrobial and anti-mold.
- Free from metal-organic tin, environmentally friendly.
- Low foaming & excellent film-forming to ensure high transparency without fogging defects.

Polyurethane Rheological Agent Usage
RT8W is recommended to be added at a concentration of 0.05-0.5%. After dilution, it should be slowly added under stirring conditions and thoroughly dispersed at high speed. It is suggested to add RT8W before the emulsion to achieve high gloss performance. The additive amount should be appropriately adjusted according to the viscosity requirements of the product.
Polyurethane Rheological Agent Application
The RT8W is designed for versatile coating formulations from matte to high-gloss finishes for both interior and exterior walls. It’s suitable for styrene acrylic, pure acrylic, and vinyl-acrylic systems, particularly for high-gloss and high-hardness surface finishes. In water-based industrial paints, it can avpid fogging while keep rich film coverage. It is an ideal choice for spray applications.

Polyurethane Rheological Agent Compatibility
RT8W has good compatibility with cellulose thickeners and alkali-swelling thickeners, and can be freely combined with them. It can be used as a main thickener or as a co-thickener to achieve excellent flowability.
Packaging and Storage
Packaged in 50kg and 200kg IBC plastic drums, the container remains sealed. With a storage period of 12 months at 5-35°C and protected from light and heat.
